The Future of Arms Control

There is substantial commentary concerning efforts to use arms control to address emerging technologies yet very little discussion as to what these arrangements might look like in practice. This work is designed to address these concerns and is culminating in my book project, Engineering Security: Arms Control in the 21st Century

The Determinants of Innovation

This work engages with questions concerning how states leverage various aspects of economic statecraft to drive R&D related to these emerging technologies in pursuit of their strategic interests—combining the fields of political economy and security studies.

Political Methodology, Wargaming, and Experiments

My methods-focused work investigates the utility of using wargames as an experimental environment with which to explore policy-relevant research questions. In the process, my work engages with broader debates surrounding the appropriateness of behavioral methods to contribute to scholarship in strategic studies.
